Danang has set aside special incentive for FDI projects in the field of industry and Information Technology

(ictdanang) - that is confirmed from City’s leader to the leaders of the departments (the Center of Danang investment promotion; High-Tech Zone Management Board of Da Nang) at the Conference "Investment cooperation on information technology and communications of Japan-Danang" (took place this morning 8/9/2016) in the framework of the Organization of activities of investment promotion in the field of Information Technologies and Communication of Da Nang (DA NANG ICT DAY) of the year of 2016 (taking place on 8 and 9 September of 2016).

At the workshop, the Centre of Danang Investment Promotion (represented by Mr. Le Canh Duong - Director, standing in the center of the photo) - New Business Association of Saitama NBC and Incubation Selfwing Vietnam agreed to jointly sign an Agreement on "the triple Corporation on “The combination on information exchange, supporting, promoting businesses in Saitama province, Japan for investment in the ICT sector in the Danang. "

"Da Nang has offering the efforts to deploy solutions to further improve its investment environment, such as: building the complete infrastructure for High-Tech Zone, the Park of Concentration Software and Information Technology with preferential and attractive investment policies; focus on speeding up the reform of administrative procedures and the training of Human Resources in Information Technology with advanced level, proficiency in a foreign language ... for meeting the needs of investors.

The City government committed to create the good condition for Japanese investors for setting up and executing the projects pf ICT with high effect in Danang city.

Vice Director of Department of Information and Communication of Danang City, Mr. Tran Ngoc Thach has shared much useful information about the current state of the ICT industry in Da Nang, the potential and the factors why to choose Danang for investment to develop the information technology industry.

Sources of foreign direct investment attracted in past years have contributed actively to the common development of Da Nang. Until August of 2016, Danang had attracted 423 FDI projects with total registered capital reached to 3.68 billion U.S. dollars.

Specifically on the sector of Information Technology and Communications, Danang have 55 FDI projects with total registered capital of 12.5 million U.S. dollars, up only about 0.34% of total investment capital registered in the city.

In 2015, the sales of the FDI businesses was estimated at 776 million U.S. dollars, the export of goods was estimated at 522 million U.S. dollars, paid to the State budget was estimated to reach 112 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 1.42 times more than in the year of 2014. Up to the present time, the total number of workers employed in the FDI businesses up to more than 48.000 people.

The leaders of Da Nang City also respectfully acknowledged the contribution of the Japanese investors in the City "continuously voted as the Top of whole country on Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) Public Administration Reform (Par Index) and the Available Applications and Development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT Index)" :

Japan as the country has largest capital flows of Foreign Direct Investment in Southeast Asia with investment projects focused on precision mechanical industry, processing industry, high technology industries and information technology.

Therefore, Vietnam in general and Danang city in particular always identified Japan as one of the key partners that needs to focus investment attraction. Up to now, Japan is the country with the largest investment project in Da Nang with 112 projects, total investment reached 397 million U.S. dollars, accounting for nearly 10.8% of total investment throughout the city. Japanese businesses have been contributing actively to the economic development of the city, solved jobs for about 30 thousand of local workers and the surrounding provinces.

At the workshop, Japanese investors were interested to learn the policies, regulations and incentives related to the establishment of the branch, the company producing the packaged software and released online games; the conditions of technical infrastructure to develop the storage services and shares related to cloud computing; ability to meet human resources in place.

Most of the questions were answered in detail by the Vice Director of Department of Information - Communications Mr. Tran Ngoc Thach; Director of the Center of Danang Investment Promotion Mr. Le Canh Duong. The businesspersons questioned were very satisfied. A few questions or recommendations not yet clear about the content, requirements; Chairman of Questionnaire Section suggested questioners to arrange the writing with more detail for more complete answer.

Seminar "Investment Cooperation on Information and Communications Technology of Japan-Danang" are very successful when IT investors and Japanese businessmen as well as the Trade Promotion Agencies of Japan had bluntly share of these inadequacies and elements which do not constitute advantages that Da Nang need to avoid , as well as raise the level more-readiness to embrace the wave of investment in the Information Technology Industry.

An expert on the field of research on ICT of Japan shared the content of interest to the Chairman of the Questionnaire section at the workshop.

"You need to mention to the harmony in many aspects, transportation infrastructure to be ensured higher, shortening the route to move from living place to employment place; human resources must meet the skill to adapt a work environment with the peculiarity of occupation (Creativity, Discipline) and conducing each other about customs, culture, ways of managing, operating (Japanese style). About labour price, we should re-think to more attractive, if not the opportunity from the order-according to market mechanisms-force to shift to other places in the near future" - representative of Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro) and representative of the Japan Business Association in Danang , sincerely shared.
